CHAS (The Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme)

Japanese Knotweed Ltd are registered contractors to the CHAS Government backed and SIPP Health and Safety scheme. Each month thousands of contractors and consultants (suppliers) apply for work with public and private sector organisations (buyers). To win work, they must meet the buyer’s health and safety standards.

Assessing suppliers health and safety competence is usually a lengthy and time consuming process. Suppliers can sometimes meet one buyer’s Health and Safety standards but not another. Being CHAS approved reduces duplication as suppliers compliance is accepted by all CHAS buyers.

CHAS assesses applicants:

  • Health and safety policy statement
  • Their organisation for health and safety
  • Their specific health and safety arrangements to a standard acceptable to our buyers and to others

Those amenity organisations that promote the logo show that they have a “licence to practice” and you can have confidence that work undertaken is to best practice standards and fully meet the legal requirements. This is vitally important, especially if you are having amenity work carried out in your home. For example, when a professional gardener helps maintain your grass or eliminate Japanese Knotweed. Ensuring they have the logo, allows you to have confidence that your property is being maintained using the highest standard methods.
