bringing our teams together
All staff here benefited last week (6th March 2025), from a company day that brought everybody together from the Environmental Controls Group (which includes Japanese Knotweed Ltd). As well as providing staff a valued insight into the progression of the business, it was a good day and evening socially for all.
STABILITY AND GROWTH
It was enlightening for everybody to hear how we performed last year, and the direction the group is taking in servicing the needs of the marketplace and our customers. The group turned over £4.3m in 2024, which was our second highest annual turnover to date, and the second year in a row above £4m.
DIVERSIFIED SERVICES
It was encouraging to see and talk about how those sales are being achieved via the ever-diversifying range of specialist control services we provide.
Certainly, our Japanese knotweed services remain a preeminent offering for our clients. However, other Invasive Plant services via our Environment Controls brand, especially Invasive Bamboos and a Ragwort treatment service is growing year-on-year.
Our fastest growing service sector is our Amenity Weed Management services. From our first contract in 2022, our unique offering is quickly becoming a desirable solution for multiple councils across the UK to help keep weeds under control.
Another service with significant sales is our removal of non-licensable Asbestos in Soils Removal. Although available as a standalone service, when provided in combination with the removal of invasive weeds, we are offering our clients an efficient and cost effective multi-contaminate removal contracting option!
In this case study we explain how our teams found asbestos onsite when on a commercial knotweed excavation contract, and how the client benefitted from having both contaminants removed at the same time.

The company day allowed a detailed review of the product services we now offer our clients nationally:
